Animal Welfare

dog

Animal welfare is the ethical responsibility of ensuring the well-being of animals. As advocates of animal welfare, veterinarians have the responsibility to promote the humane treatment of animals. This encompasses all aspects of animal well-being, including proper housing, management, nutrition, disease prevention and treatment, responsible care, humane handling, and, when necessary, humane euthanasia.
